Solar without the strings
We're changing the game. Lock in your electricity savings by subscribing to solar.
Yes, it's just like having your own solar power system.
Do I have to pay installation costs?
Leave installation costs to us. We factor all design, engineering, permitting, and installation costs into your fixed $70 monthly payment.
Payments only begin once your system is producing power.
How does the one-year savings assurance work?
If you don't save money in the first year, you can cancel your contract.
To calculate your savings, we look at the energy you consume in the first twelve months and how much this would have cost based on utility rates in your area. We can then subtract your total electricity and subscription costs to evaluate your 12-month savings.
If you do not save money, you can cancel your contract with no penalty.
How do I pause my subscription?
Easy, contact Palmetto Support to pause your solar subscription.
You can pause your subscription for up to three (3) months in any calendar year. While your subscription is on Pause, you will not be charged the monthly subscription fee—your system will be turned off and not producing any power.
Do I get a say in the design?
You get the final say.
Before you sign your contract, we’ll ask you to review and approve a 3D rendering of the design that shows system size, panel placement, and how everything will look on your roof. While solar panels are placed to optimize performance, we can often modify the design based on your preferences and will only move forward with your approval.
When will I get charged?
Once you start producing power
You'll be asked to place a deposit for the first month's payment when you sign your contract. This is to confirm your interest before we move forward. Once your solar energy system is installed and producing power, your deposit will be applied to your first month's payment.
What if I want to move or sell my home?
You can transfer or cancel your contract
If you need to move or sell your home, no problem! We have options to make it easy.
If the new homeowner wants to continue with subscription solar, we can transfer the contract and send you $300 to thank you!
If you transfer your contract to the new homeowner AND install subscription solar on your new home, we’ll send you a $500 thank you instead.
If the new homeowner chooses not to take over your contract and you have had the panels for less than five (5) years, you will be responsible for the prorated removal fee.
If it's been more than five (5) years since the system was activated, removal is free.
What if I want to cancel my subscription?
No problem, you can cancel anytime in the first three (3) months, and we'll remove the system at no cost to you.
If you choose to cancel your subscription after the 3-month trial period but before the end of your 5-year contract, you will be charged a pro-rated cancelation fee—up to $10,000—based on the remaining time in your contract.
The cancelation fee is solely to recoup our equipment costs. Due to current regulations, we cannot recycle or reuse solar equipment.
What happens if I need to replace my roof?
Better before than after the installation
We’ll check the age and condition of your roof before we qualify your home for solar. If your roof needs to be repaired or replaced in the next 5-7 years, we’ll recommend or, in some cases, require that you upgrade your roof prior to installation. We will not install solar unless your roof meets all building and safety requirements.
Once installed, solar panels can protect your roof and reduce the need for ongoing repairs.
How long does the installation take?
One day for installation, but 1-3 months between contract and power
While most installations can be completed in one day, there are multiple steps, both leading up to and following the installation, that require a little more time. These include permitting, utility approval or “interconnection,” final inspections, and Permission to Operate (PTO).
Most homeowners will start producing power 1-3 months after completing their virtual site survey and signing their solar contract.
How much power will my system produce?
600-1300 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity per month
While monthly production will vary based on weather, season, and other factors specific to your home and location, we estimate that your solar energy system will produce an average of 600-1300 kWh of electricity per month. For most U.S. homeowners, production is highest in the summer, followed by fall and spring.
Solar panels installed by Palmetto are highly efficient and typically require little to no maintenance. If you notice a dramatic change or disruption in system performance, please contact us as soon as possible. If the problem persists, you'll have the option to pause or cancel your subscription.
What kind of system am I getting?
