Who can use the Palmetto App?

The Palmetto App is designed for Palmetto Solar and Palmetto Protect customers. The Palmetto App allows you to track your system’s energy production as well as your energy consumption (if a compatible consumption tracking device is enabled). With the app, you can also manage your account, contact customer support, make referrals, and request service. COMING SOON! New customers will be able to track the status of their new solar system through design, installation, and activation.

I’m a new Palmetto customer. How do I get started?

Once your signed contract is received, you will get a welcome email with instructions on how to activate your account and access the Palmetto App. If you have not received that email at the address you provided to Palmetto, go to home.palmetto.com and click ‘Don’t remember your password?’ to request a new invitation. If you are still having trouble, please contact Customer Care at 855-339-1831 or [email protected].

How do I download or update the Palmetto App?

Apple users, please go to the App Store and search for Palmetto Solar. Apple users can update the Palmetto App by going to the App Store or by selecting the update Palmetto notification on your iPhone. Android users, please go to the Play Store and search for Palmetto Solar. Android Users should uninstall the old Palmetto App from your device and download the newest version: 1. Go to the applications list on your phone. 2. Find the Palmetto App, and select uninstall. 3. Go to the App Store (Android) and download the Palmetto App. 4. Open the new Palmetto App and log in with your current user name and password. If you have any trouble logging in, tap ‘Don’t remember your password?’ to request a new invitation. What if I downloaded an older version of the App but never used it?

If you originally downloaded an older version of the Palmetto App, you will need to upgrade to the newest version. See FAQ “How do I download or update the Palmetto App?” above. When you first joined Palmetto, we sent a welcome email to start using the Palmetto App. If you still have that message, tap the link to complete your registration. If you can’t locate that message or the link no longer works, update the app, then open it, and select ‘Don’t remember your password?’ to request a new invitation. I’ve opened the App, now what?

On the Log In screen, enter the email address and password you used to set up your account. If you have not set up your account, find the welcome email from our Customer Care team and tap the link in that message to complete your registration. If you can’t locate that message or the link no longer works, click ‘Don’t remember your password?’ to request a new invitation. If you are still having trouble, please contact Customer Care at 855-339-1831 or [email protected].

What if I forgot the email address I used to set up my account?

If you don’t know the email you used to set up your Palmetto account, please contact Customer Care at 855-339-1831 or [email protected].

What if I forgot my password or need to change/reset my password?

If you forgot your password or are unable to log in: 1. On the Log In screen, select the "Don’t remember your password?" link. 2. Enter your email, and select Send Email. If the email you entered matches the account on file, you will receive an email with instructions to reset your password. To change your password: 1. Open the Palmetto App, and select Account in the Tray at the bottom of the screen. 2. Select Account in the list, confirm your email, and tap Reset Password.

Do I have to log in every time I visit the App?

Each login remains active for 24 hours. After that time, you will be prompted to re-enter your account credentials. We are currently working to extend the active time to 7 days. If your mobile device supports biometric authentication, you can enable touch or face ID to make logging in easier.

What are biometrics?

Biometrics include touch ID and face ID, which can allow you to authenticate your identity using a fingerprint or facial verification. With biometrics, you can quickly unlock a mobile device or open an app without entering a password. You can enable touch ID or face ID in the settings-usualy under privacy-on your mobile device.

What are the features of the Palmetto App?

With the Palmetto App, you can easily monitor your solar energy production and consumption*, access customer support, request service or maintenance, manage your account, and refer your friends to go solar too! * Consumption data available only with consumption monitoring equipment.

How do I use the App?

Quickly access the App's primary features using the icons in the "Tray" at the bottom of every screen. 1. Click or tap "Dashboard" to view your production and consumption data by day, week, or month. 2. Click or tap "Service" to request service or maintenance. 3. Click or tap "Referral" to generate a unique referral link that you can share with friends, family, or neighbors. 4. Click or tap "Help" to quickly access support via chat, email, or phone. 5. Click or tap "Account" to view and manage your account details You can also navigate through the App using back arrows (←), and by touching the screen text and icons.

How do I view and monitor my production and consumption data?

The Dashboard is your roadmap to savings. Monitor how much solar energy your system is producing (Production) and how much energy your household is using (Consumption*) - by day, week, or month. Consumption tracking is available only with specific consumption monitoring equipment. The chart makes it easy to see variations, track averages, and monitor the performance of your solar energy system. To show or hide Production, Consumption, Temperature, or Cloud Cover, tap the buttons below on the chart. For more details on how to read the Dashboard, select the "About this Data" link below the chart and buttons.

Why is there no consumption data on my Dashboard?

Some solar energy systems are not equipped or configured to measure energy consumption. We are actively looking for more solutions to support consumption monitoring. For now, this data is only available for customers with one of the following. a) a CURB monitoring device b) a Solaredge HD-Wave inverter with RGM Monitoring enabled.

Why do I see an “Error Loading Data” message?

It’s likely that we need additional information (like your inverter key) to access the performance data from your system. Please select Help to contact our Customer Care team for assistance.

What factors impact my solar energy production?

Your custom solar energy solution is designed to optimize production relative to the energy needs of your household and the pitch, size, and orientation of your roof. Once installed, you'll see variations in production based largely on daylight, weather, and season. Clouds, shade, or extreme weather can block sunlight from reaching your solar panels and result in a slight decrease in production. Energy production will be highest when direct sunlight falls on your solar panels. This can happen at different times of the day depending on the pitch and orientation of your roof. In the United States, the sun is low in the winter and high in the summer. As the angle of the sun changes relative to the angle of your solar panels, you’ll likely see seasonal variations in production.

Why is the weather included in the App?

Weather can have a significant impact on production, so it's important to consider when evaluating the health of your solar energy system. For example, heavy rain may decrease production while cool days with clear skies will likely show an increase in production. While solar panels function best with direct, full sunlight, they are designed to withstand wind, snow, hail, and heat, and will continue to produce power in indirect light.

Can I view solar production in dollars instead of Kilowatts so I can compare it to my utility bill?

Not at this time. Because electricity costs vary widely based on location, utility company, and rate calculations (flat fee vs. variable rates), it is difficult to provide an accurate comparison between Kilowatt production and dollars saved. That said, we are exploring ways to accurately provide this information.

What is the “Refer a Friend” program and how can I access it?

Help your friends and the planet! Refer your friends, family, and neighbors to go solar with Palmetto. Get your unique referral link and track your earnings all in one place. 1. Select Referral in the Tray at the bottom of the screen to get your unique referral link. 2. Share your link via Email, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, or natively on your mobile device. To view your stats, select Show Stats on the Refer a Friend screen. To learn more about Palmetto’s Refer a Friend program, select Terms & Conditions at the bottom of the Refer a Friend screen.

How do I get help from customer support?

To contact our Customer Care team by chat, email, or phone, select Help from the Tray at the bottom of the screen. At Palmetto, we're dedicated to superior customer service and will go above and beyond to address every issue in a timely manner. We respond to requests Monday through Saturday 8am–12am EST, and Sunday 11am– 8pm EST. There’s something wrong with my system. How do I request service?

1. Select Service in the tray at the bottom of every screen. 2. Select the services you need, and tap Next. 3. Review your request, and tap Submit Request.
